Apologia: can represent both sides of an argument or debate: … it means "defense" … or "speaking in defense" of one's opinions, position, or actions … by showing a rational explanation through fact as to why someone should believe something

Apologetics: is the discipline of providing a reasonable and systematic defense of a belief system backed up by facts … it's derived from "apologia"

Webster's Dictionary defines it as: a branch of theology devoted to the defense of the divine origin and authority of Christianity

1^st Peter 3:13 ~ 15; Who is there to harm you if you prove zealous for what is good? 14 But even if you should suffer for the sake of righteousness, you are blessed. And do not fear their intimidation, and do not be troubled, 15 but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence

Hebrews 11:1 & 6;1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen (this is acceptance by faith) … 6 And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.

Hebrews 11:39 ~ 40; And all these, (Ch.11 previously listed faithful followers) having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, 40 because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect.
